The first ultrasound

I had my first ultrasound yesterday. It turns out, I'm earlier in the pregnancy than everyone had though. I'm only at 6 and a half weeks. The baby is only 4mm long and my due date is March 6. Our plans worked perfect. We wanted to give me just enough time to go back to work and get my hours in to be eligible for maternity leave again. This way, I'll work for about 4 months, then I'll be off for another year. Some people think we're crazy having 2 kids together so soon, but this is what we wanted. They will only be 16 months apart, they'll go through life's joys and struggles at the same time. It will be fine. They say, no 2 pregnancies are the same. I find that to be true. I never had morning sickness with Sarah, but with this baby, I've gotten sick twice so far. I'm also very tired. This tiny 4mm person drains my energy. I get a lot of help from Mom though, plus Sarah is starting to stay on a schedule with her naps, this way I can relax and nap with her. Once the house is sold, it'll all get a lot easier.

Surprise!!!

It's been a while since my last posting. I've been so busy. We're selling the house, we've been on holidays, Sarah keeps me on my toes, plus SURPRISE...I'm pregnant again. I'm only about 8 weeks into it. I'm going to have an ultrasound next week. I can't wait to find out what my due date is going to be and also how many babies are in there. I'm hoping for only one. Peter has twins in his family so there's a chance for more. I haven't had any morning sickness, nausea or anything, so far this pregnancy has been the same as the first one. Our parents are excited of course, they're all hoping for a boy, but to us it really doesn't matter.
So we're selling the house, we'd like to move closer to work. It'd be so much more convenient. Especially, with 2 babies. Sarah is 8 months old now. She can crawl and stand up holding onto furniture. She keeps me busy as she's discovering everything around the house. Her favourite places to play are the garbage can, Tyson's food dish and the water in the toilet. We have to keep the lid closed all the time. Potty training is going OK, she pees and poops in her little potty every morning, but not throughout the day. She going to start walking in a matter of weeks now. She's got good balance, but she still needs to hold onto things. My dad can't get enough of her. He made a 2 hour video of her, that we're going to send to her great grandmothers in Hungary.
Last month we went on holidays to Sault Ste. Marie. It's about an 8 hour drive from here. We stayed in a little cottage by the lake. Peter and I did some fishing, walking, boating, but mostly relaxing. I caught 3 fish the one day. We kept one of them and ate it for supper. It was great! We also visited one of Peter's uncles who lived nearby. Sarah had a fantastic time, she loved the outdoors. A few weeks from now, we're going to drive down to New Brunswick for 9 days. Peter has a lot of relatives there, we're going to visit as many of them as we can. I think it'll be fun, but I'm not looking forward to the 14 hour drive each way. We might have to stop and spend the night in a hotel.
