Easter of 2008

Easter this year was a cold one. The temperature is still around 0 degrees most days. The snow has slowly started to melt. Yesterday, Peter and I took Sarah for her first stroller ride. She really enjoyed it. It was her first time outside for more than just a few minutes. She checked out everything on our way to the store. Houses, trees, the road, sidewalks, etc. Then on the way home she fell asleep. For Easter we had a nice big turkey and ham dinner at Peter's Mom's house. Sarah got a huge, singing bunny from Grandma. She's so close to being able to sit on her own. My Mom got her a really awesome playpen, that we'll keep at her house. I stopped breastfeeding as my milk supply's got really low. That's OK though, she eats lots of pureed vegetables now. Potatoes, carrots, peas, beans, squash...she has a good appetite. She's not picky at all.
We're almost finished painting the house. We only have the upstairs bathroom to do. The house looks great. I can't wait for the snow to melt, so we can head outside and work on the backyard and my flower gardens.

What a winter!

We have had a record breaking winter this year. Since January we've had 246cm of snow in this region. Wow! That's a lot of shoveling. Luckily our neighbours have a snow blower and help us out. In return, we get them chips from work.
Sarah has reached another milestone. She turned 4 months last week. She got her immunization shots too. It wasn't as bad as I'd expected. She got 2 needles, but only cried for the second one. And only for about 10 seconds. Not bad! She's getting so big. She weighs 14.5lbs, and she's 25.5 inches tall. Pretty soon we're going to have to upgrade her car seat to a booster seat. She's able to use her little hands now, she tries to grab everything she can reach. She also tastes everything. Just in case it's food! (You never know.) She eats baby cereal twice a day now. I put different fruits in it for her to make it more tasty. Feeding her usually creates a big mess, but that's OK, she's still learning. I also give her baby crackers. She loves munching on those.
We're in the middle of painting, so the house is a disaster right now. Hopefully, by next weekend we'll be done and I can clean and organize everything.
