Christmas 2010

Well, obviously, I didn't get my wish of posting updates more often than every 6 months. Here we are in December, ready for Christmas. The presents have all been wrapped, the tree's been decorated and the front of the house looks festive in multicoloured Christmas lights. The girls are now 21 months old and 3 years. They both take swimming lessons still, and Sarah also plays soccer on Saturday mornings.She's past the little girl stage, she's more independent and reliable. She's also a big help around the house, whether it's cleaning, laundry or shopping. Her vocabulary is unbelievable for her age. She has a thirst for knowledge, she has to know everything about everything. Christine is slowly starting to talk, unlike Sarah, she doesn't seem to be in a hurry. She has her ways of letting us know what she wants.We have 2 new additions to our family as well. 2 weeks ago I decided that I didn't have enough on my plate, so I got 2 kittens. I adopted them from a lady who'd found them abandoned with their mother. She had already found a home for the mom and I took the kittens. They were about 10 weeks old and already litter trained.
They're great with the kids. Sarah likes to pick them up and carry them around the house, but they don't seem to mind. We're going to let them explore the outdoors in the spring, once the weather is nicer. Peter's a bit worried that if we let them out they might not come back, but I'm sure they will.I joined the Dirty Thirties Club last week. I was kind of uneasy about hitting this milestone. Where have the years gone?
I took Peter's advice and instead of worrying about getting older, I focused on all my achievements by the age of 30... I'm married to an amazing man, we have 2 beautiful kids, a big house, a great job...what more could I ask for? And still there's so much more ahead of us. Our next big adventure is going to be a trip down south in February, probably to the Dominican, but we haven't decided. Sarah is already counting the number of sleeps till then.
